WELCOME TO RGIIT AMETHI

Well !  Well!  Dont be surprised guys .  Yes it is IIIT Allahabad(Amethi Campus)  which is named as RGIIT Amethi. Every student aspires for a good rank and good college after getting some really good marks in JEE Mains( previously AIEEE) exam. And I am sure you will be definitely very happy getting IIIT Allahabad and be more than  satisfied. But , but , but in IIIT Allahabad category you get two colleges one main campus in Jhalwa, Allahabad and another extension campus in Teekarmafi, Amethi. Yup you are right Rahul Gandhi's constituency Amethi.

You must have heard alot about this constituency during these elections  and  you also must be thinking it as a  very developed and well crafted city ...... Then i must tell you  that you are absolutely wrong. There is nothing to praise about Amethi , not even a single thing. But i am getting off track right now . I must talk about RGIIT Amethi :P Yup first thing first , most of the students after getting Amethi they are not confirm whether to go to Amethi for registration or Allahabad. This is the first dilemma and i know many student face this. In reality you have to go to main campus only for registration and then come to the RGIIT Campus.

After getting enrolled as RIT201#### you become a part of IIIT A or i should say RGIIT Amethi . Then anyhow you come to Amethi by bus or i should say very hardly found trains to Amethi. Then you say ask yourself where the hell is this college located and after entering Amethi you say oh shit, this must not be Amethi(Yes such drastic is this city according to our expectations  . Btw it is not that much bad :P ) Then any how  through auto (mostly reserved -Rs 160) you reach this place Teekarmafi and then through the forest you reach  so called RGIIT amethi... But i am damn sure you will not be able to find this college even if you go through the gates as it is not even having a sign board . Infact when i first reached here i went far ahead of the gate then i asked one person "भैया ये IIIT  कहाँ है ?" then he said " भैया  आपने  तो उसे  पार  भी कर  लिआ है , ये  पीछे  वाला  गेट  ही  तो त्रिपुल आईटी (in hindi he said :P ) का गेट है "  ...

And this is the time where journey of RGIIT Amethi begins....

Now here is the real situation of RGIIT Amethi-- Watch out
Lets talk of the location first.

It is located in Teekarmafi near an Ashram and is surrounded by wild jungle and a small flowing river. It is 10km away from the main city Amethi and 31 km away from Sultanpur and around 50 km away from Pratap garh.

How to reach RGIIT Amethi ?

AMETHI RAILWAY STATION

Hostel:

You can come to Amethi via bus or few trains. Talking of the hostels which is very important for any student. It has three well maintained hostels. One for the girls and other two for the boys. And of these two hostels one hostel which is located in the corner of the campus is for 1st year students and other one is for second and third year students. Yup don't be amazed there are no 4th year students here as in fourth year students are transferred to main campus in Allahabad. Students have choice of living alone or they can live in pairs of same gender ( please dont misread it :P ) .The hostel rooms are really well furnished and students really enjoy living in these rooms. Its better than many IITs too. The hostels are really fine and neat. In total this campus has 260 students(200 boys  and 60 girls) but it has a capacity of 270 students .

Mess:

 In total there are two mess separately 1 mess each for boys and girls. The food quality is altogether good and you can enjoy eating it. The mess provides four times of food . Mess for boys is located in the senior hostel on  the ground floor. All the mess is having the AC.

Library:

It has a very small library but keeps almost all books related to the course.

Computer Labs:

It is also having good computer labs where students are provided  good systems by the institutes. But first year students are provided 1 system per two students. 

 

IT STUDENT'S TEMPLE ( COMP LAB OR CS CENTER )   ;)

 

Faculty and Study :

Here faculty comes everyday from Allahabad to teach students and then after teaching they return back to Allahabad. Every week each subject is taught once for three hours maximum.Not more than two classes are entertained (10:30 to 1:00 and 2:30 to 5:00).
It comprises of class and lab both. here most of the study is done through presentations on the computer. In first year basic subjects like Physics , Electronics, Communication are taught alongside with programming languages. Most importantly no Chemistry subject is taught here.Mostly software based study. That doesnot mean no hardware study but it is really less. All faculties in Main campus and RGIIT Amethi is almost same and examinations are conducted on same day and all papers are same in both campus.

EFFERVESCENCE (COLLEGE FEST)

Head:

Here the  head is Dr. Sanjai Singh who teaches Physics to first year students and we have warden as Mr Bhoopesh Tiwari and Security Incharge as Mr. I.D. Upadhayay.

Bus Facility:

Bus facility is provided to the students of this campus for 6 days of the week in which bus goes 4 days to Amethi and two days to Sultanpur so that student can eat or buy the things of their need.

Bank Facility:

The college has a SBI bank located nearby the campus and has a ATM machine too which works from 10 am to 4:30 pm from Monday to Friday and till 1 pm on Saturday. ATM doesn't work very well and it has been started very recently in the month of March.

Sports Facility:

The college campus lacks very badly in the  field of  sports and game. As the campus building is still in progress it only has one Basketball court(also used as cricket court), three badminton court , one vollerball court and one football ground. It has indoor game facility of Table Tennis.

MY EXPERIENCE AT THIS CAMPUS :

Actually this is not only my experience but experience of most of the student  living here. When people get in here they feel very uneasy and are frightened that how will they survive here as there is not discs, no pubs, no restaurants , no malls, no movie halls and etc etc. When people first come here they cry and think of leaving this college too but i must tell you this place is heaven and when you will start living here you will know why i am saying like this. All  270 students of this campus are like a family. Here there is no case of ragging but formal introduction.

Class's timing  i guarantee you here among all the government colleges are the best. Here you have a lot of time to spend  to eat ,sleep and enjoy.  This place RGIIT is like second home to me and all the members are like my family. I enjoy here too much and i think everyone enjoys here too much. Here students score more than the main campus students and get good packages like 1 crore too. 

  So donot hesitate in coming to this college I guarantee you one day you will remember my blog and say that i was absolutely right. You will enjoy college life perfectly here. For few days you might feel a bit awkward but gradually you will get into the rhythm of this college and live college life to the fullest.  If you  or any aspirant get this college do not think twice and rush towards this. I know infrastructure is not good but  you should know that  in 4th year students are transferred to the main campus. So there is nothing to worry about.

Previously 4 to 5 years we used to have only 10-15 girls out of 230-240 students but now we are having 55-60 girls out of 250-260 students. Girls student also need not to worry as i told you many girls from good modern cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Gaziabad, Patna, Lucknow, Hyderabad are already living here.
